Our slippers are made with 100% pure wool and natural leather, but are surprisingly easy to care for. Wool and sheepskin will not hold odors like most synthetics but, when needed, the occasional wash will help retain the original shape and tightness of your slippers.

Simply drop them in a washing machine on a short gentle cycle in warm water using mild soap. Make sure to put them in with other similar coloured items, like towels (nothing with a zipper of velcro), to avoid too much agitation and abrasion from the machine.

Do NOT machine dry, best to let them air dry in the shade.
Helen made her first pair of slippers for her young son in the winter of 1977. They had a hand cut sheepskin sole and a crocheted upper made with hand spun raw wool. In a few years they would become known as the Original Padraig Slipper. Since Helen started selling her wares at local craft markets, the slipper line and the company have grown and evolved. The slippers now come in numerous colour ways and styles and are sold in boutiques across Canada, the United States and Europe.

Though our company has expanded, employing more than thirty local artisans and support staff, we are still independently owned and operated and our premises remain in North Vancouver, ensuring product quality and support of the local community. The slippers too remain largely the same; they are still hand-crocheted and hand-dyed in small lots, ensuring each pair is one of a kind.
